3 Hours to Go!

This countdown is expected time that Bitcoin mining will produce half the reward, making mining double difficult. It will happen about 3 hours after sending this email. The same page explains what the “halving” means better than I can. Let’s just say it happens every 4 years like the World Cup.

If you are like me and don’t get how it all works, but feel that it is significant, then maybe you should come to Cryptopia.

I started Cryptopia with friends at the end of 2021.  We have had several events over the last 3 years, and each May we have the main event.

Crypto companies were all the rage in 2021 and 2022, but when prices drop, so do does the funding for projects.  So in 2024, with Bitcoin reaching all time highs, we are seeing a little resurgence in new projects and interest from consumers in getting their hands on crypto.

My friends who helped me start Cryptopia have all gone on to new projects.  They are all excelling in their new ventures and don’t have the extra bandwidth to do big production like we have done in the past. 

So this year I am organizing Cryptopia 2024 by my lonesome. Worry not, it is super easy because of an event software called Luma that does it all for me. Also, the graciousness of Pelion Ventures to lend me their event space for free makes it possible.

I want Cryptopia to be free forever.  Each May we should gather as a community here in Utah and meet other builders and bag holders.  

So this year we have 10 companies that will demo their inventions or products but not before we kick off the event with a State of Crypto panel with the experts in the space.

I have lined up a good group, so come learn and get some free drinks (looking for drink sponsor:).
