I know you sometimes read these emails of mine:) I try to make sure there are nuggets of absurdity for your friends to comment on. I am sure there are a few women in Alpine who really enjoy the writings of your wayward son. Now you can let them all know I found my way, or at least the way is brightly lit by the Sun above.

I was thinking about how many meals Natalie makes for our kids. It’s a lot, but they feed themselves often and we eat out a lot. Growing up we didn’t eat out much and I didn’t ever make a meal for myself until I was an adult. I added up how many meals you made me and I estimate that number to be 13,870. That’s 2 meals a day up until I left to Italy on my mission. It would have been 3 meals a day until I went to kindergarten, but even then I remember having Squeezits you got me for lunch at school, which was Redbull for kids in the 80s.

What Happened to Squeezits? | Sporked

By high school I was back to 1.5 meals a day from you, mostly dinner. Breakfast became cereal and lunch was $3 bucks that went to Burger King or Arby’s, maybe Taco Time, depending on who rocked a better dollar menu in the 90s.

You took a chance on me and let me drive the family car to school once I had a licence. I believe I finished off the Suburban, the Mazda, and the Ford Ranger all with accidents or heavy use. So thanks for letting me drive to eat when I you didn’t cook for me.

I do remember eating out a few times back in the day. Alpine had the Pizza Station, and that should be reinstated, because it would do well. And the next place we would drive to and enjoy as family a few times was Porter’s Place. Here is the menu for old times sake. I didn’t realize how rad Porter Rockwell was until I studied him this year. He killed more with his gun than Doc Holliday being bodyguard to Joseph Smith and Brigham Young. Now that I am a religious leader, I am going to need a friend like him. At minimum, let’s bring back the restaurant and make it a real brewery like he had in Lehi 125 years ago.

…Ok my kids are screaming at me to go watch our favorite anime right now. It’s one that all my readers would enjoy, I think even you would enjoy it, Mom. It’s called Frieren (trailer below) about a elf who takes care of her fellow travelers like a good mom would.

Did you ever think your name would become so vogue in your 60s? Crazy what a green hair teenager can do.

Love you Mom!

Happy Sunday and Mother’s Day
