My Brain is Shrinking
I don’t feel like I have been talking much. I get worried to say the things on my mind because I know many people are listening. Ironically, that is the same reason I am experimenting with this public journal.
I am feeling the effects of age. I am not as quick physically or mentally. It feels difficult to admit to the beginning of the slow decline of my mind. I was the best when thinker when I was 30 I think. I just didn’t know what to think. Now I feel like I have more data than ever, but my processor is slowing.
Most athletes peak in 30s, but guess who else peaks in 30s? Chess players. So really, once you hit 40, you have to really hope you got the knowledge and skills necessary to carry you to the end.
I watch Bryan Johnson trying to live forever and I think he is doing a great job of taking those that are interested along the journey with him. He happens to be in his mid 40s. I wonder if longevity competitions will start with teenagers soon? Will there be an 18 year old who thinks long term and lives like Bryan Johnson is so that he can be the first 200 year old person.
Look at how the brain atrophies with age. It gets smaller inside the skull. I am accepting this smaller brain of mine. I don’t know what I could have done otherwise. It shrunk all on it’s own.
Happy Saturday.
