Saint Stephen‘s Day

Somehow I arrived in European countries this summer on the day of their national state celebration.  We landed in Rome on June 4 and now Hungary August 20th.  Both national holidays and both unplanned by me, but great surprises.

The display of fireworks they do annually on the river here in Budapest is the largest in Europe and best I’ve ever witnessed.  It takes place on the Danube River that divides Buda and Pest. This city and its 2 million residents have plenty of history to make any visit a special one.

I spent my 24 hours here seeing historic places, thermal baths, and a very famous ruin bar. My favorite part is getting to eat dinner and walk with my brothers and sister and parents. The whole Paul clan is here and the moments we get sharing stories while walking are the highlights of travel.

I fell asleep and woke up to share this because I would have slept into the next day and missed my first 420 News in 300+ days. That’s crazy to think for me, as I’m not known to be consistent.

Love from Budapest and I’ll check in tomorrow from Bratislava.
