About year ago I was on my phone doing a Zoom video call shirtless in the sauna. My cofounder, Kirk, was also on the call. We were meeting a tech billionaire located somewhere in Europe for the first time. We told him that we were picking up an old project started by the ancient Egyptians.

The call only lasted several minutes. The individual stopped us mid-sentence as we started to explain our project. He said, “Call me back when you are serious.”

I called Kirk immediately after and asked him what he thought just happened. We did a play by play recap of each word we said, trying to guess why left the call so abruptly.

We decided to email him a nice note thanking him for the time he did spend with us.

Here is the reply he gave to our email:

Now we have a 10 days to submit in our answer. We have sent him a few pieces of art as a reminder we are still playing his game and searching for an answer.

We have a theory that there is no right answer, but we sure love the mini quest he put our brains on. He has lived rent free in our minds for a year. Brilliant strategy, intentional or not.
