Turn! Turn! Turn!

My old man sent me a song he felt would be good to share. He doesn’t share song preferences often so I was pleased to get this text yesterday.

I started reading the comments in this video and quickly realized this song is very important to many people.  It’s a great Memorial Day song for obvious reasons.

I remember first hearing it on the Forrest Gump soundtrack when I was 12.  That movie introduced me to many of the bands from the 60s and 70s, as I’m sure others here had similar experience with that soundtrack.

I learned back then that the song was basically lyrics from the book of Ecclesiastes.  Here are the verses of the song:

To everything turn, turn, turn

There is a season turn, turn, turn

And a time to every purpose under Heaven

A time to be born, a time to die

A time to plant, a time to reap

A time to kill, a time to heal

A time to laugh, a time to weep

To everything turn, turn, turn

There is a season turn, turn, turn

And a time to every purpose under Heaven

A time to buid up, a time to break down

A time to dance, a time to mourn

A time to cast away stones

A time to gather stones together

To everything turn, turn, turn

There is a season turn, turn, turn

And a time to every purpose under Heaven

A time of love, a time of hate

A time of war, a time of peace

A time you may embrace

A time to refrain from embracing

To everything turn, turn, turn

There is a season turn, turn, turn

And a time to every purpose under Heaven

A time to gain, a time to lose

A time to rain, a time of sow

A time for love, a time for hate

A time for peace, I swear it's not too late

We are all in different seasons as individuals, as a family and even as a country and a world.

What seasons are you in? What season are we all in together as a species?

Happy Sunday

I fed the lyrics to Midjourney and got several results and upscaled this one below. Each one had trees. Must be most iconic imagery to show seasons.
